Arsenal's hat–trick hero from Tuesday night, Nicklas Bendtner. The great dane scored three times against FC Porto from Portugal as Arsenal won through to the last eight of the Champions League. The Londeners were 5–0 winners on the night.
Big Nic has taken plenty of flak, especially from the British media and yesterday the king of the tabloids, The Sun, graciously apologised to the striker after they had slated him just days earlier. The callled him a labelled him a "Pantomime Dane who could not hit a cow's Arsenal with a banjo" after his misses against Burnley.
Yesterday they changed their tune and admitted that maybe they had been a little hasty in writing him off.
Bendtner on hearing about it all said: "I have heard there was some criticism of me after the game last Saturday but me and my team-mates have just laughed about it. That is how I deal with that - I laugh. It felt incredibly good to score my first hat-trick for Arsenal. "It has been on its way for quite a while but now I have done it. It is really one of the personal goals I have wanted so much to achieve. I am so happy to receive the match ball as a memory. All my team-mates signed it and I will keep it as a wonderful souvenir - hopefully it will not be my last hat-trick."
Nice one bro.
If you missed his goals, here they are...
